WHAT HAPPENED TO REHAN SHEIKH?

Man has long been divided by continents, national boudaries, state lines, and neighborhoods within cities. Man is also long divided by religion, which is, according to the Oxford Dictionary, the "belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power". That being goes by many names: God, Yahweh, Allah, and Jehovah are at the top of the list.
Man calls on these names for help in times of trouble, calls on these names to damn other men, calls on these names for no apparent reason. Some think the being answers their prayers, and some don't.
I would like my prayer heard, my question answered: WHAT HAPPENED TO REHAN SHEIKH?
For those of you who followed the story I enlarged upon re: Sunrise Equities and Salman Ibrahim, there has been a new twist. As you know, I did not reveal my source, at his request. And now, it seems my source is DEAD. Coincidence? I think not, as do many others.
Rehan Sheikh was sent to me through friends. He had a story to tell and wanted the world to hear it, wanted it to go beyond the confines of the Indian-Pakistani community of the "Devon Corridor" here in Chicago. He was a cab driver, but also hosted "DIL SE" ("From the Heart"), a one-hour talk show on WSBC, Radio 1240 AM on Sunday nights from 11 PM to 12 midnight.
You may recall his rapid-fire commercials, as he wanted to allow his callers as much air time as possible. You may also recall "Allo, allo, allo?", his musical greeting to callers. Rehan Sheikh was ENERGY, a vital voice in the community. And now, HE IS DEAD.
Rehan Sheikh's "superhuman being" was Allah. He was a practicing Muslim who attended no mosque. I met with him in a coffee shop during Ramadan, and guiltily sipped from my mug while he could not. He told me an amazing tale of corruption, greed, and scandal in his community. I began writing, and have been researching ever since that day, Saturday, September 13, 2008.
He told me, JUST FORTY-ONE DAYS AGO, that he had been THREATENED WITH DEATH if he told anyone about the Sunrise Equities scandal. He said others had been threatened also. He had been, but was no longer, friends with Mohammad Tariq Siddiqui, "the "builder", former Ibrahim associate, and bundler for Barack Obama.
Rehan Sheikh's concern was for the victims of Salman Ibrahim's scam, which had been backed by the local Mufti, Nawal-ur Rehman, who was also president of the Shariah Board of America.
Nawal-ur Rehman has apparently left the country. www.shariahboard.org posts that the "fatwa" listing is being "reconstructed", leaving no evidence of the thousands of pieces of online "advice" Rehman imparted to his followers. Apparently, he needed to perform a little CYA, as he denied persuading potential victims to invest with Salman Ibrahim.
Rehman also fired Ibrahim from his position as treasurer of the Shariah Board, thereby washing his hands of the matter.
Religion is a funny thing, or becomes so, when politics get jammed into the mix.
Our own 49th Ward Ald., our Magoo mayor, and the Democrat team of Obama/Biden have accepted "campaign" donations from Ibrahim and company. I have the documentation. I know whereof I speak.
There are practicing Muslims, residing here, in Chicago, Illinois, United States of America, who believe that through the "religious" practice of Shariah, a tenet of extreme fundamentalist Islam, they will gain control of American banks and political officials.
They are known as Tablighi Jama'at, the chameleon-like militant "proselytizing group", who enlisted an American, John Walker Lindh, some years back. Look it up if you don't believe me!
Tablighi is linked to Taliban, which is linked to al Quaeda. Tablighi Jama'at is being monitored by the FBI. Gosh, the things a researcher learns!
I have my suspicions regarding Nawal-ur Rehamn and his followers. Everything points to "not quite above-board"!
That is where Rehan Sheikh comes back into the picture. We were about to meet again, as he had more of what he called "evidence". He fell ill, mentioning to a mutual friend that he suspected food poisoning. I cannot assume WHERE he ate, but I do know he ate in a restaurant, more than likely one of his favorite places for a quick bite. Probably, but not definitely, somewhere on Devon Avenue. I know he disdained greasy food, claiming that Pakistani and Indian food was not "healthy".
To my knowledge, there have been no recently reported cases of food poisoning occurring at Devon Avenue restaurants. Apparently, REHAN SHEIKH WAS THE ONLY ONE AFFECTED!
Heavily-curried food CAN disguise a number of bad things, like tainted meat, or certain readily-available poisons, or heart-stopping medications. (Even Muslims watch "CSI"!).
Rehan Sheikh also told our mutual friend that his car windows had been smashed. The windows of his cab? I'm not certain, but it was surely a warning, NOT a random act. Money talks, and "they" were after him because he exposed the scam.
I understand he was taken to a hospital. Which? I don't know--YET. He expired after suffering "TWO heart attacks". I've been told there was NO AUTOPSY, that "the Muslims" immediately sent his body back to Pakistan for burial, in accordance with Islamic burial practice.
In an instance such as this, an autopsy SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE, to determine cause of death! Even the newest, most inexperienced Mufti should have thought about allowing the autopsy.
And who are "the Muslims" who took charge? Rehan Sheikh, though he knew many, was not affiliated with any mosque. If they were Muslims from Masjid e Noor, or Jamia Masjid, they were associates of Nawal-ur Rehman, the denier. How utterly convenient!
Rehan Sheikh's personal struggle for truth, or "jihad for truth", may be over, but know this:
--The circumstances surrounding his death are at the least, HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS.
--Members of Tablighi Jama'at take pride in LYING, justifying that by lying for the "cause", Allah will grant them a higher reward in "Paradise". They have done, historically, ANYTHING to further their cause, including maiming and killing. Morally and ethically, this is unacceptable behavior in the majority of the world's religions, including Islam.
--ALL the players in the Sunrise Equities SCAM will come to light and pay dearly for the fraud they committed. Somebody ALWAYS knows something! Somebody ALWAYS wants to talk! If the FBI is involved, those "somebodies" will HAVE TO TALK!
--The story is of international significance. Now, it cannot be hidden away. All of the voices cannot be silenced as easily as that of Rehan Sheikh. The State of Illinois considers the actions of Sunrise Equities to be FRAUD. Criminal charges are pending.
_______________________
I grieve, deeply, the fact that I will no longer be able to sit and talk with Rehan Sheikh, a man among the most interesting I have met.
I grieve, very deeply, for his ailing, young daughter, who has lost the caring father who loved her.
I grieve for the Urdu-speaking community, which has lost a champion of truth.
And, I grieve for our nation. A Pakistani came to the US because it offers FREEDOM, and instead was THREATENED WITH DEATH, for exercising that freedom, by petty, greedy, secretive, Medieval-esque individuals who would rather not have their true agenda be made known.
Rest in peace, Rehan Sheikh. I will miss you terribly. We will never collaborate on your screen play. I will never get the chance to cook for you, as I promised. And I will never stop searching for the answer to my question:
WHAT HAPPENED TO REHAN SHEIKH?
